Seasoned Plates catered a small intimate Christmas party at my home this past December. It selected a 4 course plated dinner with appetizers and a cocktail hour. Sara made planning the event a snap as it was completely stress free. We found Sara very detail oriented and creative. We easily customized our menu to suit the likes of our guests.
Sara arrived early, completely organized and complete with all of her own kitchen tools, dishware and was fully prepared to jump in and begin preparing our dishes. Prior to beginning, she confirmed how we wanted the evening to unfold. Since it was a formal evening she brought with her an experienced server who was very friendly and pleasant. Service was exceptional! As each course was served, Sara would explain the intricacies of each course. We felt like we were dining in a 3 star Michelin restaurant.
Sara’s food and skill as a chef were far was beyond our expectations. Our meal was presented beautifully and immensely enjoyed by all of us. Needless to say, our guests were very pleased and impressed.
At the close of the evening, we went into our kitchen to find it clean and just as it was before Sara arrived. We have had a number of caterers in the past and have never had anyone as professional as Sara. We did not have to oversee anything and got to enjoy the entire evening as guests in our own home. We highly recommend Seasoned Plates for anyone's special event and look forward to Sara preparing another special event for us.

Working with Sara as our wedding caterer was so easy and pleasant right from the start! Her passion for the food was obvious from our first phone call and her experience and knowledge was so incredibly useful through out the planning process. We wanted a fresh, unique and above all else DELICIOUS Mexican buffet for our wedding reception and Sara absolutely exceeded our expectations! We had guests raving about the food (and still do to this day!) with local San Diegan's saying it was the best Mexican food they have ever had (and we completely agree!) Sara put so much thought and care into every single detail, from the menu to the serving dishes to the display leveling to the food labels, and created an aesthetically beautiful buffet table. As a bride, I was pretty hands off and let Sara take the reins and she completely outdid herself! Looking back at our amazing wedding day, the food was honestly a highlight and we are so thankful to Sara for taking our vision and executing it flawlessly. Every word of that is true. Thank you again so much! Just tonight we were talking about the food!! We ate the leftovers for the next 2 days before we left for our honeymoon for almost every meal!! Thanks so much, Sara! We are already thinking of excuses to throw another party you can cater ;)

It's a very rare occasion that I would take the time to write this. Owning our own business you tend to only hear when things go wrong. With that said our experience with your company compelled me to do this.
We entertain all year long. We have eaten at most of the celebrity chef restaurants. We have covered most of the major foodie cities numerous times over. To make it short you brought a 5 star restaurant to our home. The food and the service were impeccable. We look forward to using you on every occasion. Your skills are remarkable and we wish you the best in your venture.

When we met Sara, we'd already seen & met with three different companies who were interested in catering our wedding. Like so many great joys in life, Sara & Seasoned Plates came highly recommended from friends of ours. We were running out of time & needed to act fast.
Sara was a complete joy to work with. I don't quite know where to begin. First off, she actually 'listened' to what we wanted, what we wanted our family and friends to experience and then she went above and beyond by creating & curating a menu that to this day our beloved guests still talk about.
There was so much love and thought put into every seasoned plate that was served. The food was ridiculously spectacular--yep, that's exactly what it was.
Since most of our family & friends were in town from Colorado, we wanted "California Cool". To us, it meant street tacos--I mean nothing says that more than delicious, abundantly flavorful, made-before-your-eyes street tacos.
To say the food was on point is an understatement. Not only was there the food, but there were added benefits like her mother--yes, her mother who created gorgeous flower arrangements that were far from traditional & basic. Rustic clay flower pots and so much more were sourced with love, care, attention to detail & most important--they all fit our theme.
Then there was her A-Team. She pulled the best of the best from her special drawer of servers, bartenders & planners. But they were so much more than that. While we were stressed out--as couples may tend to be during such an über important, hectic time, her team kept us calm. Dressing the tables, rearranging the flowers, making sure the water pitchers were accessible...too many things to name. They handled it all with grace, patience & kindness. I truly felt like during that time, we were the only people that mattered to them; it was that personal.
Sara and her Seasoned Plates rocked our world. She's smart. You can taste the fact that she frequently travels, always perfecting her craft, always learning; she teaches up & comers and more importantly, she pours her heart and soul nto every dish she creates. Did I mention the jalapeño lime simple sizzurp (syrup lol) she made for our custom margaritas? #westillhaveabitleft :-)
We could not have had our wedding without her. All 100 guests 1 year later still speak of the food and how damn good it was.
Thank you Sara for your talent, your heart, your mother, your team, your vision, your execution, your professionalism, your smile, your heart and all that you did to make all of our loved ones feel special and cared for at our wedding.
We can't wait to get married again just so we can have the food!
